A Challenge for "Category Stories"...

This is a layout I created today for a challenge at Category Stories. As you can see I loved every minute of it! Next week I will post my full range of snapshots & close-ups, supplies list, etc, but for now I just need to provide a link before 11.59 CST time so this is it!

More on this one soon!

Hi all - that wasn't really a post as such - just needed a "place" to put this layout to be included in the challenge. I have done bits of distressing here & there so I don't think it's a totally new look for me & I have been slowly increasing the amount of stitching I use on my layouts since I got my machine earlier this year (I always have sewing machines but my last one had been stolen some years back & with all our moving I hadn't been able to replace it until recently). I don't like taking the easy way out & going with one particular style that's tried & tested because if you don't experiment you don't grow. I had fun with some misting sprays I found recently (like hensteeth here in SA) & sadly they only had grungy colours - diet cola & brown...& was recently gifted a water-pen which is a cool tool that you use to paint water onto your edges to curl them & as you can see it worked a treat! It is very dimensional & I like how it turned out ;-D I would like to do a few more layouts like this to put into some shadow frames for around our new home as generally I don't go too chunky for my albums. Thanks for your encouragement - it is really appreciated ;-D

I love how you used the die cut as a frame for your photo! Thanks for playing along and good luck!

This is gorgeous. Love the design, colours and the little details which finishes it off beautifully. And of course the distressed double frame is just stunning.

This is cool too!

I esp. like how you have put the photo in a circle in the corner and also your hand journalling.
